On December 28th our benevolent dictator, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, announced youth sports practices and games would be allowed in January. Against published science Walz and MNHealth’s Jan Malcolm required youth athletes to be masked in almost every circumstance. Read more HERE.
Let Them Play has filed suit again. This time to force Governor Walz to remove his arbitrary requirement for student athletes to mask during sports without providing any data or studies that youth athletes put anybody at risk, or that masking benefits outweigh the risks already experienced during this first week back at practices (asthma attacks, dizziness, passing out, nausea, and reports of more than a couple ambulance calls). To add insult to injury the youth athletes are masked while older and more susceptible and more prone to carry and transmit athletes in collegiate and pro sports are waived from the requirement. Finally the politicians are paying attention and 30 of them have stepped into the game with a letter to Governor Walz. Let Them Play, led by Dawn Gillman, has been asking upset parents and coaches to send their concerns to their state representatives so they might take action and also read them on the House floor. MNHealth and Walz have provided no data or studies to prove that masks on athletes even do any good, Why do they insist on putting youth at risk from dizziness or fainting from trying to breathe thru sweat soaked masks, or obtain bacterial infections from reused masks? Even Dr. Soma from the Mayo Clinic was quoted in the Staunton News Leader, HERE , “The bottom line, Soma said, was whether the dangers of wearing a mask during an athletic event, even if those risks are very low, supersede the risks of COVID-19 transmission without masks being worn.”
A cynical person would say that MNHealth and Walz are using our children as pawns in the game to perpetuate the narrative that there is an on-going “emergency” that requires 1 man dictator rule. If most every business is open under simple to follow health rules and most events, schooling, and sporting activities can also be held with self regulation by their own governing body then THERE IS NO EMEREGENCY and there is no need for a 1 man dictatorship.
As long as Walz has “emergency” powers one size fits all mandates with hidden data and hidden scientific reasoning (if there is any) without any input from our elected representatives, will forever be a dark shadow following youth sports, schooling, operating a business, and public or private gatherings.
ITS TIME FOR REGULAR ELECTED GOVERNMENT. END WALZ’S “EMERGENCY” POWERS. Call and email the following 6 DFL representatives that have voted for ending emergency powers before. There are enough votes this session to end the emergency.
Tell them, “Vote full revocation of powers, and only revocation, and hiding behind rules tricks to avoid a vote is not acceptable”

Governor Walz is scared of Rocks and Cows breaking up his band. He is not scared of Republican politicians growing a spine. Make them all, DFL and MNGOP, scared the next election is gonna be bad for them if they let Walz stay dictator punishing the kids.

If Twitter, Facebook, Instagram… can block certain content, decide what to sensor and what not too because they are a private owned company and not a government controlled entity, then every other privately owned business should decide whether to stay open or closed!!

I teach young people to drive. They’ve relayed to me about themselves and friends wearing a mask during an athletic practice. One told me that 2 of his friends threw up in their mask and were too ill to continue. Another said that she’s known of kids passing out or becoming dizzy and having to forego the rest of practice. Making them MASK UP is going to kill one of them eventually. Many have asthma and breathing their own harmful air back into their lungs could cause a major attack. So Walz, quit killing MN!!
So sick of this Walz and Malcom crap. I have sent emails to the chicken Dem Reps and I have been talking and sharing information with the Sheriff here. Why can’t we get one to just arrest Wal* and his cronies. It is their job to defend us against tyrants, no matter who!!
